Damocles

In the land of Kardis, the Great World War that engulfed the northern countries for over a decade has left the soil torn and battered, and though peace has been held between the rivaling nations since the wars end, tensions stir as kings and governments move to solidify power. Power in armies; wealth, connections, trade, but some stray into darker sources of strength. Pagan ritualism practiced by occultists spur the dark twisted ire that exists in the hearts of mankind. Corruption of unknown origins: rituals that break the boundaries separating the world that we know from the world that is unknown. Through human sacrifice, blood offerings, incantations, and possessions, the demonic influence stains the world in a color darker than pooled blood. Human life stands on a scale to be weighed in value if corruption spreads unchecked, and the hourglass of time has run low.
