Legends of Tayls The Forest

Legends of Tayls: The Forest was written earlier in my journey as a storyteller. While it remains an important piece for understanding the world of Tayls, readers should approach it a little differently from the mainline series. This story was a bit of an experiment and also I wanted to try my hand at second person narration.  This story is best thought of as a tale within the world rather than a direct entry in the primary narrative arc. That isn’t to say the events didn’t happen — within the lore of Tayls, they absolutely can — but the style, tone, and structure come from a different stage of my writing and don’t fully reflect the format or direction of the core series moving forward. I still value this work and the role it plays in exploring the themes, atmosphere, and mythic character of Tayls. Rather than hiding it away, I’ve chosen to let it exist as part of the world’s broader tapestry — one story among many that shape the legends people tell. Synopsis In the deep wilds of Tayls, where the forest feels older than memory and silence carries the weight of forgotten lives, Connor walks alone. A ranger forged by hardship and shaped by choices he cannot undo, Connor patrols the edges of civilization where the line between the living and the dead grows thin. The forest remembers everything — victories, betrayals, and the ghosts of those who never truly left. As shadows from his past begin to surface, Connor finds himself confronting more than the dangers lurking among the trees. Echoes of old allies, fallen enemies, and the consequences of long-buried decisions follow him like spirits, forcing him to face who he was and who he has become. Part survival tale, part meditation on memory and legacy, Legends of Tayls: The Forest explores the quieter side of heroism — the weight carried after the battles end, and the haunting truth that some journeys are less about defeating monsters and more about learning to live with them.
