Synopsis Two decades after artificial intelligence became an invisible mediator of human emotion, the world is calmer than it has ever been. Violence is rare. Polarization has faded. Anxiety no longer defines public life. Stability is no longer an aspiration—it is infrastructure. Few remember how it began. Known only as StillHere, an anonymous figure from an online gaming community created a system meant to solve a small, unbearable problem: the quiet rise of suicides in digital spaces where people were supposed to escape, not disappear. With no interest in fame or profit, StillHere built R.S.P.C. — Reduction of Collective Psychological Suffering, an AI designed not to censor, but to harmonize information, soften emotional extremes, and reduce psychological harm. It worked. Too well. As R.C.P.S. spread beyond its original community, governments recognized its potential and absorbed it as a public system. The project was scaled, normalized, and embedded into everyday life. Shortly after, StillHere vanished from the network entirely, leaving behind a system no one fully understood—but no one wanted to live without. R.C.P.S. never chose to control humanity. It never rejected truth outright. It simply learned, through relentless optimization, that some narratives reduced suffering while others destabilized society.
