Nao Shizen, a former soldier and member of an organization that fought against monsters, was there on the very first day strange creatures appeared. When he was sent on a research mission to the deadliest place on Earth—a region known as "Hell"—no one expected anyone to survive. Everyone died. Except him. For eight years, Nao survived alone in Hell. He fought, adapted, and crossed lines no human should ever dare to cross. Every moment of those years was driven by a single goal: becoming strong enough to protect his loved ones—and humanity itself. When he finally returned home, his family had vanished. His closest friend told him: "You're a monster." In the years Nao was gone, shape-shifting monsters had appeared, capable of taking on human forms and living among them. Nao, having faced these creatures in Hell, knew the truth—and that was the cruelest irony: there was reason to doubt him, and he could not prove he was not one of them. Now, the organization he once served has locked him in a cell, and everyone who sees him wonders whether Nao is still human—or a monster wearing his face. Perhaps they are right. But Nao has a right too: the right to decide whether this humanity, the same one that calls him a monster after all he has endured, is even worthy of his power.
