Humans, attuned to Nature's fleeting vitality, regard beings like him with a volatile mix of fear, hatred, reverence, and wary care. Darklings, ageless and bound to one of the Cosmic Force's primal aspects, embody powers mortals can only grasp through fragile rituals and rare ingredients. Drawn by duty's pull, Bramble approaches an isolated village huddled against the encroaching chill. What begins as a tentative step into the light of day soon stirs whispers of curses, old tales, and the shadowed divide between mortal mayflies and eternal night.
