The universe has stagnated for over 100,000 years, and no new gods have been born in that time. One ambitious and passionate god sets out to fix that with a universe wide challenge, The Ascendancy Games. The top 1000 non-divine beings are reset to level 1, and put on the most dangerous planet ever created, all competing for a chance to ascend to godhood. They must survive, complete divine challenges and [System] quests all while trying to maintain as high of a level of viewership as possible, because if you're already making the greatest game the universe has seen, you might as well broadcast it.
