Marcus Cole didn't ask to be transported to another world. He definitely didn't ask to be classified by its ancient magical system as Statistically Negligible. No skills. No class. No interface beyond the occasional cold line of text in his vision. Just a canal city with aging infrastructure, a labor shortage, and a system that watches without explaining. Marcus is a structural engineer. He notices when things are about to fail. He can't help it. That would be fine, except the city's canal network is under more strain than anyone admits, and the people responsible have every reason to keep it quiet. All he has to do is not get involved.
