“Dad, why do the stars only shine when the sun isn’t out anymore?” The girl known as Clara asks her father a delightful, curious question to which the father answers with a simple idea. “It’s because the sun is too overpowering; the light from the stars can’t reach us during the day because of the brightness of our sun.” The girl’s father answers his daughter's question, followed by a simple pat on the head.“Can’t we just get rid of the sun then? So we can see the stars all the time!” Clara says in a childish tone, with a more than childish idea that makes her father laugh at the absurdity of it. “And how would you get rid of the sun, Clara?” Her father asks, still entertaining her daughter's imagination, for the curiosity of a kid is what he had signed up for when he chose to be a father.“I would put a big cover around it! And so it doesn’t melt, I would make it from the same materials as the oven! Then it would all be a big baking oven!” These memories of her planet are what kept Clara going while the entire universe seemed to turn against her, for her fate was supposed to be sealed, for she who should have died did not. Though countless souls follow her, is it Clara’s choice to remain alive? One does not know, but one keeps watching over them for their story seems never-ending. Follow her journey across the galaxies with me then, then let’s explore why it is that she does not surrender and wither away.
