Scarlet has always been the kind of girl who hides behind hoodies, with the hood up, sleeves pulled over her hands, and her nose buried in a book. At school and at home, she does everything she can to avoid being noticed. When she develops a secret crush on Oliver, the school’s most popular guy and her only friend’s brother, she does not realize it is going to change her life forever. Before she knows it, she finds herself at the centre of a targeted campaign of rumours and lies. Just as she is trying to keep her head down and stay out of trouble, one of her bullies is found dead under suspicious circumstances. The death has disturbing connections to Scarlet, including where the body is found. From that moment on, life is never the same for her or for anyone around her.
