The Phoenix and the Water King

When the phoenix dies, a new phoenix is born--thus it has always been. It is as eternal as the war between the Dominion and the Water Kingdom. But after the last phoenix died, nearly a hundred years passed before the phoenix mark appeared once more, this time on the back of a young fire elf. For Alexia the mark has never felt like a blessing or a gift, and she would rather pass the mantle than take it. But that the Dominion needs a phoenix is clear.
