The Death has a Nasty Way

James Smith dies on his first day at work after an unexpected accident. When he goes to the afterlife’s main office with the man he mistakes for an “angel of death,” he learns that he actually died due to a system error. When the second life given to him as compensation also ends within two minutes because of another mistake, they add a small extra gift on top of the compensation. This “angel of death,” who accompanied him in both of his deaths, is now assigned to his service, and James will begin a new life on another planet while retaining the memories of his previous life. This time, when he opens his eyes to his new life, he is lying on the floor of an office, covered in blood. He has taken the place of the murdered detective Caspian Mortis. Now, in order to have a longer life, he must solve both his own murder and other cases.
