In a world in tune with its gods, Nesretan does not remember any of the events that lead to a demon taking residence in his head, but he does know that because of a forgotten deal he made with it, he has a hope to save his wife from her demise. He will not lose her. He just needs a lot of money, and fast. As a note, one of my tags is "tragedy", and by this I do not mean a nihilistic tragedy, so if that's what you're looking for, the ending will be disappointing for you. Additionally, this is partly an exercise in different writing than I'm used to. I'm going to be trying discovery writing (less outline), and writing directly onto my laptop.
