Those who urged us to “reach for the stars” knew no fear, because they never imagined the stars might reach back. But they could.They would.And they did. The creators of worlds stirred from their long silence and sent ripples throughout the cosmos. The infinite lights that once inspired awe and curiosity were distant suns no longer, but ova – vast, glowing eggs holding something unfathomable. Monsters. Demons. Angels. Gods. The names didn’t matter. There would be no one left to remember them in the end. Still, we named them. We called them Starspawn. When the stars shattered, the sky gave birth to horrors. Cities burned. Nations fractured. The world bled. But the monsters left something behind. Crystals. Remnants. Fragments of whatever powered them. We learned quickly that we could consume them.
