Humanity was on the brink of extinction. It had been for a long time now. The bombs dropped over two hundred years ago, leaving only those up in space stations to survive. All of these stations had since fallen. All but Eden Station. Due to it’s experiments on human genetics and embryos, Eden Station was in a fortuitous situation to repopulate the destroyed planet. It just had to last two hundred and fifty years for radiation to become survivable. Two centuries have already passed, and many generations have passed the torch. Kalc and her sisters now care for the station, for humanity’s future. But nothing lasts forever. Eden station is getting closer to ruin everyday. Hope dwindles with every failed system. Their mission seems almost impossible. But Kalc won’t give up. She will see to humanity's survival. It isn’t in her DNA to fail. The mission will be accomplished. No matter the cost. WHAT TO EXPECT: -A one chapter short story following Kalc as she tries to survive on a derelict space station with her sisters Crow and Pastel. -It’s a darker story exploring the effects of long term stress and hopelessness on characters. How much misery can one take before they break? -This is the second of six short stories I’ll be releasing. The next short story should be out next month. ****************************************************** If you like my work and want to see more, go to check out my main story Volition. It’s a post apocalyptic fantasy story with multiple POV characters (apocalypse won’t take place until several chapters in).
