by Hueston Milbrand
Every morning, Thom follows a rigid, solitary routine. Black coffee with two sugars, even strokes of butter on toast, and seventeen minutes to spare before work. But his quiet kitchen is never truly silent. He is joined by the "voices" of unseen friends who are obsessed with the local West Side Strangler, a killer terrorizing their neighborhood. As the group debates the killer’s motives and technical signatures, Thom’s own intimate memories of the victims begin to bleed into the conversation. The tension reaches a breaking point when the voices identify the killer’s unique calling card.
