The Unlit Village

There is a village where everyone follows the rules. No one remembers who made them. Some rules keep you alive. Others decide how you disappear. When an outsider arrives, curious and unafraid, the village does not change for him. The rules do. Lights must never be lit after dark. Names called in the night must go unanswered. Every household leaves an extra bowl at dinner. Doors exist that are never to be opened. Violations are not punished, but consequences are inescapable. As he uncovers each hidden rule, he realizes the village’s quiet streets conceal more than shadows. Something waits for those who step too far, or ask too many questions. In a place where tradition shapes reality, survival depends on understanding the rules… before they claim you. The Unlit Village is a slow-burning, psychological folk horror novel exploring the fragile line between obedience and oblivion, perfect for fans of atmospheric East Asian horror.
