by Merrick Atlan
Merrick Atlan was never meant to exist. Raised in secrecy after his bloodline was erased, he learned to survive without knowing why the world hunted what he was. Trained in a discipline that wielded both sword and magic, Merrick moves through kingdoms as a rumor—leaving scorched ground, broken systems, and unanswered questions behind him. When a mage-scholar named Ilyra recognizes the marks of a forgotten order, Merrick’s solitude fractures. Together, they uncover the truth: Wardens were not destroyed because they were too weak—but because they were too decisive. As powerful nations move to contain him through law, proxies, and sanctioned silence, Merrick must choose between restraint and annihilation. Remaining bound preserves the world. Unbinding ends it. But when empires collapse and something older rises in the spaces left behind, Merrick learns that not all threats can be ended—some must be denied. UNBOUND: A Warden’s Legacy is a dark fantasy of restraint, legacy, and the cost of choosing when power should stop.
