Elias Thorne spent four years building Aetheria, a sprawling fantasy RPG, only to have the project cancelled and archived three months before launch. He buried the code, along with his dreams, and resigned himself to corporate IT. But when he falls asleep at his desk, he wakes up face-down in the mud of the very Tutorial Zone he designed. This isn't the finished game. This is Beta Build v0.8.4. The physics are loose, the textures are missing, and the difficulty scaling is broken. Wolves are Level 50, trees explode if touched, and there is no logout button. Elias is the only one who can see the matrix—the raw code underlying reality. Armed with a rusted dagger, a "broken" NPC assassin named Vex who has fallen in love with him due to an integer underflow error, and a cynical internal monologue full of dev jargon, Elias must "cheese" his way through the apocalypse. He isn't a hero; he's a Sysadmin. And he is going to patch this world, one bug at a time.
