In the early 1600s, a Native American boy witnesses the brutal massacre of his tribe—women raped and burned, girls taken as slaves, his people erased in a dawn raid. His dying mother and elders perform an ancient binding ritual, tethering his grief and rage to the land itself. He becomes its eternal guardian: unable to die within his territory, his body adapts over centuries, mimicking deer speed, goat nimbleness, lion cunning, and bear strength. For over 220 years, he hunts intruders—settlers, rival tribes, anyone who violates his domain—dying and rising repeatedly until the binding frays his humanity into a relentless predator. Colonial forces and neighboring tribes form an uneasy alliance to end him, luring him beyond his sacred borders where he can finally be killed. After a savage battle of traps, arrows, and fire, they bury his charred remains in a pit. In 1986, land developers unknowingly unearth his bones near Arrowhead City—his ancient territory—stirring the anchor once more. The Son of the Forest awakens, and the land hungers for correction again. A dark tale of colonial atrocity, unbreakable vengeance, and the cost of disturbing what the earth refuses to forget.
