Jacob Dwyer can see the future when he's high. Wouldn't be a problem except he has worked really hard on his sobriety. After hospitalizing the guy who kept insisting he knew his girlfriend back when she danced at the Velvet, the great state of Illinois gifted Jacob six whole months to work on his recovery in the comfort of the Lincoln Correctional Facility. And Jake, never one to be ungrateful, had taken them up on it. He'd actually done the work. Six months is the longest he's remained sober since his parents discovered his “gift”. But now he’s getting out. He's getting his act together. He has a plan that doesn't require any foresight, just some grace and self acceptance. There's only one thing that stands in the way of his new life. A group of determined scientists and their well armed benefactors who are intent on studying “The Lottery Wizard of Sangamon”. They seem to have been waiting on his release even more eagerly than he has! Can the reluctant prophet survive both the lonely road of recovery as well as the dogged interest of Graystone Research Group without the only thing that ever made him worth anything to anyone?
