When renowned scientist Dr. Brenner mysteriously vanishes from his laboratory, authorities seal the site and dismiss the incident as an accident. But beneath New York City, something far more dangerous has been awakened. Ancient creatures, long buried in an abandoned mine, have risen after deep drilling disturbed their underground world. Four friends—Sam, Tom, Mike, and Dustin—sneak into the sealed lab searching for answers. There, they discover Dr. Brenner’s notebook, a record of his secret research. Using advanced sensors, Brenner had detected strange energy readings from the mine and uncovered the truth: the creatures are controlled by a hive mind, ruled by a single master. Ignored and disbelieved, Brenner documented everything before disappearing. As the monsters spill into NYC, overwhelming police and military forces, the city descends into chaos. With time running out, the notebook reveals the only solution—destroy the master using fire, and the creatures will fall with it. In a final, desperate mission, the friends join the fight to confront the source of the invasion.
