Unfathomable

Getting robbed by dinosaurs and threatened by an octopus, Fathom tends to find himself some interesting problems.  The first in a series of short stories based in The Cerulean.  In this world, there are no humanoid races; no elves, no humans, no goblins, no gnomes, no dwarves, or orcs or anything of the sort. All the classic things you know from Dungeons and Dragons? Well, they don’t exist yet. This is a setting before the planes split, when magic was in its infancy. There are no gods or devils or demons, just animals and nature. Enter Fathom, a newly matured sea otterfolk tinkerer, trying his best to engineer a way for his tribe to farm food safely instead of continuing to hunt and gather and lose their lives. He sees a problem, he fixes it. No delegation, just straight to the point. Sadly, he also doesn’t understand emotions very well… but he tries his best. The chief of the tribe has informed their people of an issue with the food storage situation, so Fathom fixes it.
