John Kearney grew up in a far-flung seaside town where folklore and superstition hung thicker in the air than the dense Atlantic fog. At the center of the tall tales that surrounded his childhood home was a strange lighthouse that his eccentric grandfather manned. Due to the suspicion the town regarded his grandfather with, John endured both nervous glances and cruel taunts from his neighbors, making him glad to build his adult life in faraway Philadelphia. John Kearney thought that he'd left that salty town, and the mysterious lighthouse far in the rearview mirror of his life, but upon receiving an eye-catching letter in the mail, the ghosts of his past resurface to change the direction of his life in a way he could have never imagined.
