Work in progres (for critique!): A retro prom date enabled by time travel via Tegmark Level 1 parallel universes

Our hero, the not so heroic in actuality author, as a bachelor engineer version of himself, is obsessed for decades with his opportunity, forever gone, to be pushed by a mutual friend to ask his high school crush to the senior prom. This obsession is such that he is incapable of seeing the potential in any woman he meets to be the kind of soul mate that his high school crush would have been. Thanks to a reverie triggered by a rare instrumental recording of an Ethiopian band, resonance with a moment in time in high school initiates a quantum entanglement of souls, leading to a mode of time travel enabled by quantum tunneling to a timeline shifted, but otherwise equivalent Tegmark level 1 parallel universe, to regain the lost opportunity for a prom date with her, with life changing effects for both, as their connection and travel via quantum tunneling enables, via the theory of Orch Or, a new sense of perception in both, that only travelers of this path, initiated by their shared entanglement, and across unimaginable cosmic distances, are graced with.Note: this is a work in progress, and ends with their last dance together at this version of the senior prom. Notes give some direction to the second, and final segment of this story. Also note that this story is very closely inspired by real events.
