In Nerrunhive, a vertical empire of tarnished steel and smoking shadows, the city rises by design: those born high walk in iron radiance, while those below are meant never to look up. Kael is an outcast—branded, disgraced, and exiled to the lower floors, surviving from drink to drink in the shadow of what he once was, what he was meant to be. When a mysterious woman finds him broken in the street, she offers him work no one else will take: people are disappearing, quietly and without record. The trail leads downward—past forgotten sectors, gang-held corridors, and into levels the Lords pretend do not exist. As Kael descends into the hive’s underworld, the search pulls him back into violence, old debts, and truths buried beneath the city’s foundations.
