Under the age-long protection of the Light Elves, humanity developed the Seekers, Talented souls able to refine themselves into living paragons in both war and peace, able to meet glare for glare with dragons and demons and call upon power fit to reshape the world. Seekers are heroes, champions, leaders. They lead the charge into the unknown as humanity asserts its right to exist in a world that would see every Child of Adam turned into food and worse. The Talented are more than what humanity could become; they are the living embodiment of hope, bravery and glory. Enter Julia Kabaneri. She's none of that. A twenty-something NEET, she long failed to show any form of Talent, aether-related or otherwise, and is more than ready to pass the rest of her life as a useless nobody.
