After my eldest cat passed away, a year went by. On the anniversary of his death, just as I was finally beginning to move on— the cat I thought I'd lost forever came back to me as the king of a beastfolk nation. "It has been a long time, Father." A reunion with my beloved cats. A beastfolk kingdom in another world. And somehow, a power far beyond anything I should possess. This is the story of a father who loved his cats perhaps a little too much, and who finds himself once again supporting his sons as they forge their futures in another world. It is also the record of overcoming the loss of a beloved pet—a journey that stretches across worlds, time, and even the stars. A little funny. A little bittersweet. And far grander than anyone could have imagined.
