If you're trapped in a death game, just don't play. It wants you to vote out the Adversary, the 'bad guy' who can secretly kill people, and declare them dead before they can pick off everyone else. But maybe the Adversary doesn't want to play either, and they just never kill anyone. And so you don't vote for anyone. And the game continues onto the next day, and the next day, flying by the social fact that normal people don't kill each other. Even a delicate balance can hold for years. Eight people will live the rest of their lives in the involuntary death game of Mob Rule, with the fake city around them--containing them--rusting away, along with their sanity. And then Sammy is unearthed from routine work on an escape tunnel, a ninth player, a newcomer, four years into Mob Rule, raising questions. The players have questions. Sammy has questions. Sammy has threats. They might be the Adversary, and the players might have an easy way out.But what if Sammy finds the Adversary first? That would be great, unless Sammy botches it big time.---Day 999 updates Mondays and Fridays, starting on Feburary 2nd and concluding on June 19th. There will be an afterword. The chapters are the lengths they need to be.
