To the rest of the galaxy, the key distinction of sapient life in the galaxy is to evolve away anger. Species with some intelligence that retain anger are considered primals. Since this wrathfulness inhibits reason and cooperation, it's believed to be impossible for a primal species to develop a society. However, the Cosmic Council has noticed the activities of a rage-filled race known as humanity. Earth is considered a conservation preserve, and contact with the local "wildlife" is forbidden. As a cold, systemic genocide wipes out the Saphno species and the Council does nothing to help, one desperate refugee turns to beg monsters who should attack on a whim for aid. It's a slim hope that Craun won't be killed on the spot, but he's out of options. What will he learn about the natives of the Sol system and their primal tendencies? Will modern humanity rally to his aid, or will they prove the angry terrors the galaxy believes them to be?
