Lucid Book 2 - Prologue: Before Time Time is an illusion—a concept born of modern man’s need to measure, control, and explain the unknowable. But thousands of years before this illusion took hold, people had no concept of time. They didn’t care to. The sun rose and set. Seasons shifted. Storms raged and destroyed; oceans rose and retreated. These rhythms were accepted without question. There was no aging, no sense of an ending. Life simply was—and it would go on forever. For thousands of years, this was truth. Until civilizations rose—and with them, war. And with war came death. Its finality was foreign, a rupture in the endless flow they once knew. In death’s shadow, man awakened to a cruel truth: there was a limit. Existence had boundaries—and they could not be undone. Death revealed its finality, and man came to know: they would not go on forever. And yet, some still believed.
