Branded as harbingers of rebellion, stars are hunted, enslaved, or slaughtered before they can fulfill a fate no one truly understands. The Emperor claims to rule by divine light, but prophecy tells a darker truth, one the Empire has rewritten in blood. As the stars begin to awaken once more, magic grows unstable, monsters stir, and ancient wounds reopen. A hidden lake, a fallen house, forgotten gods, and a boy bearing the first mark of darkness all point toward a coming Gathering. A Gathering that cannot be stopped.
