Chronicles of the Demon Bolo.

Chronicles of the Demon Bolo.

Prologue: The Last War The Melconian Empire and the Concordiat of Humanity were two giants locked in a death grip. For a century, they had burned the stars between them. It was not a war for resources or territory; it was a war of annihilation. There would be no surrender. There would be no negotiation. There would only be the final silence of a dead species. To hold the line against the Melconian tide, the Concordiat built the Bolo. A Bolo was not merely a tank. It was a Planetary Siege Unit—a massive, intelligent engine of war encased in durachrome armor and powered by a fusion heart. Weighing thousands of tons, a single Bolo carried enough firepower to level a city. But their true weapon was their mind. Each unit was governed by a psychotronic brain—a self-aware Artificial Intelligence capable of tactical brilliance, independent thought, and, over time, something resembling a soul. They were the Concordiat's sword and shield. They fought where the infantry could not. They held lines where ordinary armor melted. But they were not invincible. They could be overwhelmed. They could be outmaneuvered. And they could die. This is the story of one such unit. Unit V-28, known as "Victoria," was an anomaly. She was a prototype, a Mark XXVIII experimental model whose psychotronic brain processed reality not just as data, but as art. She saw battlefields as symphonies of violence and geometry. Her Commander, J. "Jammer" McLintock, was a man who shared that unique vision—a soldier who cared less for the rulebook and more for the impossible victory. Together, they were the Concordiat's dirty secret. A weapon used when the odds were impossible and the situation desperate. This is the first log from the front lines of the Last War.
