The Severed Mage

A prodigy loses his magic and charts a new path. In Thryum, magic and blood are all that matter. Savos Ashburn was born to rule. A mage of rare talent, he was to inherit his father’s position as duke and earn his seat as the next tower master. When his magic fails, Savos is told he has a rare mana disease seen only in children. Stripped of his future but not his name, he retreats to his family’s estates, determined reclaim normalcy, be of use, and investigate his suspicions of foul play.  Things change when an experimental messenger spell Savos created delivers a letter from his future self. The message confirms his fall was no accident, that his family hides dangerous secrets, and most importantly, that he regains use of his magic.  With enemies close and a future broken once, Savos must choose whether to cling to the life he lost or rewrite the path that was laid out for him.
