In a world where power is carved into the body as a Mark, fate is decided early. The Vanguard Academy exists to train the strongest. Those with radiant Marks rise. Those with faint ones are expected to fail. Alex comes from a small village with a faint, unstable Mark. By every standard, he should not survive the Vanguard’s entrance trial. But when lives are on the line, something inside him awakens. His Mark does not grant strength freely. It stores pain, absorbs impact, and releases it back at a cost his body may not survive.
