At the starward end of Neidira’s Scar live the noble Carossee, an oft-persecuted people who fled their enemies and settled there a thousand years ago. In their desert haven, the Carossee have built, studied, and worshipped their one god in peace. But when a cataclysmic drought threatens to destroy everything, many lose hope and turn to a prophecy proclaiming that on the brink of annihilation, an ancient hero will reappear and lead them to their one deliverance, the fabled Rainstone. Eighteen-year-old Larn is done waiting for a savior. In many ways, he’s just like the other young men of his people, but in one key way, he’s not. Larn was born Talifay, the divine princess destined to birth the next Taluf and do little else. Yet Larn sees a different destiny: one which will take him on a journey to find the Rainstone himself, save his people, and prove his manhood once and for all. To succeed he'll need the help of a plucky antelope man and a ruthless warrior from an enemy nation, but most of all, he'll need to discover what truly makes a man may not be what he always thought. <<>> Author's note: This is a queer fantasy trilogy featuring gay, lesbian, bisexual and trans characters. If you are afraid of LGBTQ+ people and themes, this is not the story for you.
