Fable: Fangs, Claws, and Other Sins

Hey, you finally made it!  Glad to see ya, welcome to the blurb, feel free to leave your shoes on, all the good things. We'll try to keep this brief. We could start things off by talking a bit about Opal and Dante. Two wildly messed-up and half-bred mythological creatures struggling to find their own ways in a world more than ready to turn in its cauldrons for microscopes and its enigmatic magic for the sweet, sterile reproducibility of science. And we could talk more about Jaxon City, the hedonistic, futurist metropolis that craps concrete and puffs neon. But instead, I'm wondering if I could ask you a question: Tell me, have you ever been in love? And I don’t mean have you ever drank too much on a night that lasted way too long in a city that was just the right amount of far, far away.  I mean love.  You know love, that warm, fuzzy feeling that makes everything new and bright. The feeling that lets you wake up in the morning, uproot any semblance of the normalcy that was your life and barge onwards anyway with nothing, save the hope that everything will be okay, and a little less lonely, when you go to lay down again. As mythical as it may seem, that love is real, and it'd really be somethin' if you could join me as our very dear Dante and Opal enjoy their very first dance with it. If you’d like to strap yourself in and tie one on, I can’t promise you things will always be perfect. I can’t promise you every joke will land. All I can promise is that we’ve really messed up now, you and I, and if we’re gonna have any hope of doing this thing right, there’s only one way we’re getting it done: together   always together      and together forevermore. Just a heads up. If I had to put this as concisely as possible, this is a serially published paranormal romance trapped and screaming inside a southern gothic frame narrative being told with the cadence of a stand-up comedy routine. But it's just a love story. Things will start off normal enough, but as you make your way through the initial chapters, you'll start seeing what I mean. It's just a skeleton too. I'm still stitching in all the flesh. Edits will be constant, but I'll try to keep people updated on where they can expect changes week by week. I still need to get back to Chapter Four and move onwards from there, but this week I spared a little time to focus on Chapter Twelve, since we'll be following that up with Chapter Thirteen this Friday! Chapter Twelve Edits: Fixed our tagline's format at the start, I'm surprised it existed as it was for this long, but hey, let's chalk it up to growing pains. Other than that, the edits here are too scarce and small to be worth mentioning. No crazy changes thus far, but I do have ideas for some swimming around in my head.
