September 1630.
The Shepherd sails for Massachusetts Bay.
The land isn't there.
Captain Nathaniel Wright has sailed these waters for twenty years. He knows where the coast should be. But when they reach the coordinates, there's only ocean. Empty. Endless.
The stars are wrong. The compass won't settle. And he can't tell his passengers—not when they're already starving, not when the ship's stores are running dry, not when revealing they're lost could tear them apart faster than any storm.
Reverend Blackwood is watching. Waiting. Asking questions Wright can't answer.
They are not lost.
They are somewhere else.
Somewhere the maps do not show. Somewhere that should not exist.
And when land finally appears on the horizon, they will learn that some destinations are worse than drowning.
