Death doesn't always have to be the end, even if that's ultimately what Ash once wanted. With a life he couldn't call worth living, barely enough money to stay afloat, and a gun that changed both his life and his death forever, Ash stepped into another side of this world he never knew existed. Dead End Death is a modern paranormal fantasy where life truly only begins after death, and the best way to get a job worth doing is to literally die trying. If a soul with enough will and resilience is released from their body before its time is right, their true potential is unlocked, able to finally grow and be nurtured past their physical shell. A soul with this potential is tasked with this world's most important job: soul collection and protection, as a Diver. Not every soul has the means to defend itself when released, and the world parallel to ours is fraught with danger that threatens to consume and destroy freshly wayward souls. Ash Morana, freshly wayward, and desperately seeking employment, was freed from his old dead end job cycle. This started his new career of soul protection as a Diver, an explorer and protector of the greater soul sea, but starting at the absolute bottom of the otherworldly corporate soul ladder. In these two worlds only three things are certain: death, taxes, and taxed deaths What to expect from Dead End Death: DED is at its core about progression in a paranormally focused system. You'll follow a protagonist in this system that slowly climbs its ranks and grows in power while exploring another world comprised of the desires and trauma of the dead, and dealing with the beasts that inhabit that world to hunt those souls for themselves. Please expect elements of psychological horror, with mature topics concerning death, rebirth, self harm, and corporate bureaucracy even unfortunately extending past death. I have multiple chapters finished and will be releasing rapidly upon approval(and a little more editing), and then will move to weekly updates every Friday until story completion.I hope you enjoy!
