Waking up dead was the second-best thing that happened to Darren… The best was becoming an NPC in the greatest pirate VRMMO around. Of course, it takes him a while to see it that way. Hired to playtest Isle of Pirates, a game more real than should be possible, Darren finds a killer exploit. So good that the system finds an all-too-effective way of stopping him. It sends him into cardiac arrest. Now his body is dead, but his character is sailing around a stunning tropical paradise every bit as real as Earth. And for the first time in his life, he finds people who’ve got his back no matter what. Even if one of them is an anthropomorphic megalomaniac of a coconut named Wilson. But his new home is about to be opened to millions of players from his old life, people who only see Darren’s new friends as lifeless lines of code. To protect them, Darren ventures out to become an OP Pirate Lord and unite the disparate buccaneers under one flag. However, will that be enough to keep his found family safe? How can he stand up to legions of players hell-bent on corrupting a world for their own pleasure? All while beneath the waves, an evil stirs… One that threatens not only Darren’s new home, but also Earth. Dive in today to enjoy a boatload of action, over-powered cannons, and pirate ships. What you’re in for: Pirates: Who doesn’t love pirates? Ninjas. Ninjas hate pirates (story may or may not also contain ninjas). Weak to strong: Darren’ll get there. Eventually. Just gotta give him a minute (or a week or two) to find his class. Adorable sidekick: Now with a side of unhealthy-thirst-for-world-domination. Baggage: Darren's got it, and it totally will not hamper him at the worst possible moments (don't worry, he works through it and becomes the hero Gotham Isle of Pirates deserves). Numbers go brrrr: Like Darren, they start slow. But trust me, when they go brrr, they go BRRRR. Hidden Depths: A "game" world that's more than it seems. Much more. Over 100k words written, and plenty more to come. Schedule: Three days a week, Wed, Thur, Fri (US time). Three in a row to get you over the hump and into the weekend!
