In a world where powers are randomly born into or gifted by creatures, there are no aliens or cosmic threats. There are no heroes or villains, only privilege. Abilities are rare and reserved for elite professions, not battlefields. Eric breaks every rule. He is the only person in history to manifest power without a source. After one violent mistake, he is pulled into a hidden world of corruption, monsters, war, and buried truths about the reality he thought he knew. My Process I’ve been working on this story since March 2021. It’s a long, multi-part project, and I’m constantly writing it in my head. When I daydream, I picture it as an animated TV show, with scenes playing out to whatever music sparked the idea. Some moments even came from actual sleep dreams, including Eric’s powers. The realistic tone is inspired by my favorite show, Attack on Titan, and the abilities draw from the superhero styles of Marvel and DC. Disclaimer This story is an early draft shared for feedback.
