Cannon Warhammer creation of Fantasy World:1, Fantasy Warhammer World Cannon, the Old Ones are described as space-faring, mega magic and tech users who are using the Warhammer World as some kind of test bed for semi-artificial biological creations to fight/resist Chaos. It is never explained why they left/were destroyed other than 'Chaos did it' (as least as far as I know)2, 40K Cannon Old ones fought the War in Heaven against the Necron and their evil overlords the Ctan, creating various species to do so as cannon fodder such as the Hrud, Eldar, Orks (led by Krorks), Enslavers and various others not very well described in the books. The cannon says they did this on various laboratory worlds served by their first creations the Slan and the Lizardman then the Eldar.MY IDEAS ABOUT WARHAMMER FANTASY WORLD1, There is nothing to say that the Warhammer fantasy world was not one such place and logically the Old Ones would have done their level best to conceal such places from all the foes and indeed vassal races created in them. So magicking a pocket dimension (Similar to how the Druichi used the webway to create their Dark City but much much bigger) with a solar system in it would be within the Old Ones abilities.2, If this was within the Warp it would mean that it was separated from regular time and space. When the Old Ones fell none of them (according to Cannon) were on the planet only the Slann and everyone else. So when the Polar Gates fell then the Four powers of Chaos flooded in, it would have to be at least a reasonable time after the rise of Slannesh that this happened or the Pocket solar system emerged into Real Space or joined regular time when the Gates fell. (I like this option)3, Another alternative would be a group of Old Ones escaped their fate after the War in Heaven and over the millions of years that followed (more or less I think) created Warhammer fantasy world and then Cannon happened ( I don't like this option)CHANGES TO OTL1, The Fantasy and 40K Old Ones are truly one and the same while the Old Ones named in Cannon are just the Group of sorcerer scientists who are in charge of this particular world.2, The races of the Warhammer world are just the rejects and leftovers of experiments during the War in Heaven and the subsequent fall of the Old Ones.3, Chaos does not just want to capture this world for the sake of it, rather they are all jockeying for control of various Old One Relics and to destroy the last of the Slann and Lizardmen.4, The Emperor of Mankind/Gods of Order exist and know of the Warhammer Fantasy world dabbling in the Great game to decide its fate against Chaos like Greek Gods from Olympus,
