In a modern city, the dead do not begin as monsters. They begin as people who were ignored, erased or spoken over. What they become is decided by the living. Across four interconnected arcs, each haunting grows out of an human failure. A man sells luxury condos while avoiding the truth about the wife he neglected and the life that ended inside a high rise that never forgets. A forgotten shrine is revived online by people who want blessings but not the belief and the goddess that remains must decide whether attention is the same as devotion. A lavish wedding becomes a stage for class cruelty and the unnoticed death of a servant and the cat who witnessed it learns how to speak through every screen at once. Finally, a journalist tries to trace the story of a man who appears wherever regret is finally admitted, only to learn that he may not be a man at all, but a role that the world itself fills when someone is ready to say what they did. He is remembered as the Spirit Broker. He cannot punish. He cannot intervene. He only arrives when three things exist at the same time. Truth. Cause. Regret. Some say he is kind. Some say he is indifferent. Some say he never arrives at all, because he has always been there, waiting for the moment when a person stops lying. Across these intersecting arcs, the world begins to realize that spirits are not monsters by nature. They are created by people who refuse to face what they have done. And when no one takes responsibility, something else always will.
