The Supplicant's Path: The Kingstone Trilogy, Book 1

Eric never wanted glory. He only wanted to survive. Every few years, the KINGSTONE calls the young to the capital, judging them and assigning a Class that will define the rest of their lives. Most dream of power. Some seek status. A few hope only to return home alive. Eric is one of the few who leave. Cast out after his judgment, broken and disgraced, Eric wanders a world far older, and far crueler, than the stories ever hinted. Cities lie burned and abandoned. Myths leave bones behind. Ancient battles echo through dreams that refuse to fade. When the map he copied at the capital fails, Eric must rely on instinct, memory, and the quiet strength he’s been building all along. Unbeknownst to kings, nobles, and even Eric himself, the System has been watching. As Eric survives deserts, forests, and forgotten ruins, something within him awakens: a deeper understanding of mana, of strength, of the thin line between protection and violence. When he stands before a forgotten guardian stone, the truth of the world, and his place in it, can no longer be denied. Granted a power meant to remain hidden and bonded to a small, mischievous draconic companion, Eric returns to the capital not as a hero, but as a lie carefully maintained to protect something far greater. This is a slow-burn progression coming-of-age story focused on survival, discovery, quiet growth, and moral weight. There are no cheat powers handed freely, no instant dominance, only earned strength, hard choices, and the cost of standing when others run. The journey begins here.
