Vale didn’t mean to become anything important. He was just a bloke from Western Australia who walked away from his life, chasing a clean break in the Pilbara. Instead, he finds a sealed black door that leads to the Gloaming: a hostile, mana-rich wilderness of monsters, ancient wards, and forgotten rules. Vale survives his first crossing by killing the creature meant to guard the door, quietly breaking a balance that’s held for thousands of years. The power he takes isn’t clean. It’s shadowed, instinctive, and it changes him fast. With no mentor and no system holding his hand, Vale does the only thing he knows how to do: work. Hunt. Learn by making mistakes. Stay hidden and keep the door controlled, because if the wider world discovers what’s on the other side, the Gloaming will be exploited like any resource… and everything will burn. But the Gloaming isn’t empty. Other doors exist. Other hunters move through the dark. And as Vale grows stronger, so do the consequences. Vale doesn’t want to conquer this world. He just wants enough control to survive it, and enough power to keep both worlds from tearing each other apart.
