The SECOND Outpost

A team of scientists travels to Antarctica in order to study a new species of seal discovered on the icy frontier.  Less than 36 hours after the team's arrival, a stranger wanders into their camp.  A stranger who has no business being there at all. What follows next is a battle for survival.  A battle between humanity and something a little alien...Yet, a little us. The book is a great read, you can find the audiobook rather easily too.  I recommend it.  Also read; The Things.   It's the same story as John Carpenter's except from the monster's POV. This movie has haunted me pretty much my entire life.  The idea of a creature which can look, talk, and perfectly imitate the ones you know, love, and trust is an idea I've had many a nightmare about.  I am coming to terms with that nightmare now. Changelings and chimeras have factored into my works a lot because of this movie/idea.   Again, I own nothing related to the IP. Very slow upload schedule bcos this is the ultimate cathartic medicine.  My monster.
