When society deems you useless, an apocalypse might be precisely what you need. When Earth gets integrated into a bigger universe, Max Auden hopes his situation will finally improve. Instead, the System evaluates him as defective; his pattern-loving soul too rigid for the mana infusion. Max is saved by Lumen—a displaced, impulsive unicorn foal who really liked his pizza. Unfortunately, the System promptly expels them from the tutorial. Now Max and Lumen are stranded on a planet with aggressive monsters considerably stronger than them.
