Grimory Apocrypha of a World that does not Exist

A spiral traced in chalk. Seven turns. Always seven. The Man-without-Name notices it on a sidewalk in a city he thinks he knows. He takes seven steps into a street that should not exist. The world tears like a membrane too thin. On the other side: a desert of gray matter. A sky that oscillates between rust-red and ashen-violet. Ruins of an impossible architecture. And everywhere, always, changes. The Man-without-Name understands too late that he has become the necessary scribe. This world exists only if it is transcribed. Without a witness, it would dissolve. Or worse: it would contaminate the original reality. But witnessing has a price. Each written word anchors him deeper into this place. Each observation transforms him into what he observes. Borders collapse. Time refuses to hold. Helicoidal curves appear engraved in his flesh, his mind, his shadow, this world. Messages inscribe themselves in his notebook — in his handwriting, but he did not write them. "You transcribe what observes you.""You believe you write but you are written."
