Rise of The Celestial Maw

Rise of The Celestial Maw

by Narrative Alchemist

LitRPGProgressionAnti-Hero LeadActionAdventure

In his previous life, Heikin K. Remington was nobody special—or so the world told him.A burned-out analyst. A man who understood systems, incentives, and how power actually worked—but never held any himself. He fixed problems others caused.  He built frameworks others exploited.  He helped others rise while remaining invisible. And when those around him rose in influence using his insight, they laughed behind his back. They called him Kurai Hoshi. “Dim Star.”Someone who could shine—if only he knew how. Then he died. He was reborn as the weakest thing imaginable:  a dungeon slime.  No claws. No magic. No blessing. No chosen prophecy.   Just hunger. And time. And a System that rewarded one thing above all else: Consumption. Consume. Adapt. Optimize. Each absorbed creature grants skills, memories, and insight.  At first, he eats moss.  Then rats.  Then adventurers who underestimate him. But every absorption grants power.  Every kill teaches him something new. And then—absurdly, gloriously—he starts eating angels. Through ruthless evolution, strategic absorption, and a mind built for control rather than heroics, the slime ascends from the likes of dungeon trash to living catastrophe. He escapes the dungeon. Becomes a menace. A calamity. Then a myth. Then a shadow ruler behind a half-dragon king. He builds a kingdom that feels like a utopia—and functions like a machine. His enemies’ armies don’t retreat.  They become compost.  Or berserkers.  Or prayer-engines for his growing pantheon. He forms a religion not to save souls—but to starve Heaven. As angels descend to crush the “blasphemous slime,” they discover something far worse than a demon. They discover a system thinker with teeth. A god forged from neglect, hunger, and perfect control. Finding themselves hunted by a slime that wears stolen wings, and speaks in voices of the dead. To the people, he is a distant miracle.  A Celestial Beast who blesses their king and keeps the angels at bay. To Heaven, he is an anomaly.A growing error in the divine equation. As prayers stop reaching the gods and begin looping elsewhere, Heikin does what no slime—or god—has ever done: He engineers a gospel. A divine army shaped not by righteousness… but efficiency. This is not a hero’s journey.  It's an optimization problem. And Heaven is an inefficiency. It’s the rise of a god who learned—too late—that being called “average” was the greatest lie ever told. Each soul recruited—by promise, fear, or prophecy—becomes another brushstroke in an apocalyptic masterpiece. This story strikes a razor-sharp balance between utopian promise and dystopian precision. Because if the gods rely on worship to exist— Then starving them is just logistics. This is not a feel-good kingdom builder.Nor a a tale of heroism.   It is the rise of a ruler who offers peace, prosperity, and bliss… So long as you never question the system that provides it. So follow along on this story about a nobody turned cosmic threat.  The Celestial Maw, Devourer of Angels. New chapter release every Tuesday and Thursday.
