By detonating a grenade at point-blank range, he destroys the control console and drags Hazle down with him, preventing global annihilation. The world is saved—but Ren dies as an unsung hero, his name destined to be forgotten. Death, however, is not the end. Ren awakens in a white, empty void, greeted by a god-like entity who declares him a hero of Earth. As a reward for stopping the apocalypse, he is offered reincarnation—reborn into a roguelike dark fantasy world, where he will retain his memories, skills, and knowledge from his previous life. Seeking the peaceful life he was never able to achieve on Earth, Ren accepts.
