The Price of Joy

From the moment he is born, Louis is bound by a god's bargain: wealth, happiness, and a life of comfort, at a cost that no child should bear-the sacrifice of love every three years. For a fleeting childhood, he laughs, plays, and dreams, unaware of the shadow lurking beyond the cradle.  But when the god returns and tragedy strikes, Louis is faces an impossible choice: submit to a cruel destiny or defy a being beyond comprehension.
